Once you have plugged the device into the socket, the pump will switch on automatically when the water exceeds the start-level and switch off when the stop-level hasbeen obtained.this means that the pump can be left on at all times and will keep the waterin a cellar or boat, for example, at the required level.bear in mind that this pump is notdesigned to be used continuously, it must be switched off at regular intervals
